How to Verify a Certificate

Obtain Certificate Information

Request the candidate to provide one of the following:

  • Certificate Number - A unique identifier in the format UNSA-YYYY-XX-NNNNNN
  • Student ID - The student's identification number (STU-YYYY-NNNNN)
  • QR Code - Available on physical or digital certificates

Example Student ID: STU-2020-45678

Access the Verification System

You can verify certificates in two ways:

Online Search

Visit our homepage and enter the certificate number or student ID in the search box.

QR Code Scan

Use your smartphone to scan the QR code on the certificate. It will direct you to the verification page.

Review Verification Results

The system will display one of three statuses:

Valid Certificate

The certificate is authentic and has been issued by the University of Sarajevo. All information displayed is official.

Certificate Revoked

The certificate has been revoked and is no longer valid. Contact the university for more information.

Certificate Not Found

The certificate number or student ID does not exist in our records. This may indicate a fraudulent document.

Verify Certificate Details

Cross-check the displayed information with the physical or digital certificate:

  • Graduate's full name and date of birth
  • Degree title and field of study
  • Faculty name
  • Graduation and issue dates
  • Certificate number
  • University seal and signatures

Best Practices for Employers

  • Always verify certificates before making hiring decisions or admission offers.
  • Request the original certificate or an officially certified copy for important decisions.
  • Compare all details between the physical certificate and the verification system.
  • Contact us directly if you have any doubts or questions about a certificate's authenticity.
  • Save verification results by printing or downloading the PDF for your records.
